Textiles

Through the gifts of spontaneity and curiosity we can help save the environment by reusing discarded objects.
I dye random recycled textiles with rusty metals and plant materials which act like paint. Attending to color and texture, I assemble the collage of altered fabric by applying gesso, inks, paints, distressed, repaired, machine and intricate hand stitching.
New life is happening!

Mahan Family Quilt ~ created with the fabrics my mother used to make 6 children’s clothing and household items dating back to 1940. Plus my fabrics added, finishing with over 2000 hexagons, hand sewn and hand quilted. All done with love.
